If I was hired as your chief marketing officer I will start by checking the numbers. I will request financials and marketing reports of previous years. I will compare and analyze them and see what worked what didn’t.

I believe that any marketing campaign executed will reflect on the overall revenue of any company.

How do would I know which one we are doing? Well, if “X” marketing campaign is not meeting our goals. Weather short term, midterm or long term. Well, that “X” Marketing Campaign has become an expense instead of been an investment.

Bottom line, in marketing you can be doing one or two things. Spending money or investing money. Your books (overall gross revenue.) will have the answer to what’s working and what’s not.
