Become A Social Media Proof Construction Company
By: Jesse Brands™

Been on a crowed space with a lot competition within the construction industry. Construction companies and general contractors still haven’t figured out how to leverage on social media and make digital marketing work for their companies. It’s understandable, especially when all your business comes from bidding or private contracts. So, the question is, how can a commercial construction company or general contractor use social media and the digital spectrum to generate or gain more business?

Today’s reality is as follows, we inform ourselves before we connect or do business with one another. Believe it or not, your website and social media profiles is the starting point. We navigate through websites, search, check and review the profiles of people, business or brands. What are we looking for? Testimonials, Recommendations, and or referrals. Our natural tendency is to revise their content for consistency, engagement, testimonials and or reviews. If we need more clarity we will go and visit their Google Reviews, Yelp, Foursquare, Better Business Bureau and Yellow Pages.

Your website along with your social media and other platforms are becoming an essential part of your business. These platforms are becoming the source of information and education. So, let’s put them to a good use and let’s have your current and previous clients help you get more business by having them leave a you a testimonial on your website, a review on your company social media profile and or search engine platforms. This will give your construction company credibility and will help you land more projects.

Ask your current and past clients if they can leave you Recommendations, Reviews and or send you a Referral Letter with two to three sentences testimonial that you can show case in your website. If your clients are active on social media, ask them to leave you a 5-star rating or a recommendation on your construction company profile. Four (4) places that you can start working on building your social credibility:

• Google My Business
• Facebook Reviews
• LinkedIn Recommendations
• Website Testimonials

The goal is to become bullet proof and be social. If they are leaving reviews and or testimonials on social media reply back with a thank you. If it’s a negative review, you do the same. You reply back regardless of the feedback, testimonial, review or comments. This showcase that you meant to fix any negative experience they had.

Remember, 90% of our decisions are taken emotionally so don’t let your potential prospects get a negative feeling because you fail to answer negative comments, testimonials, reviews or messages. In addition to our emotions, we are now more educated consumers and our education comes from what read and see online. Make sure that what you showcase in your company’s website or social media profiles is something to be proud of and that its going to lean towards doing business with you.

General Contractors, Commercial and Residential Construction companies are always looking for subcontractors. Not only do they look at the hard bids, but they also navigate and research the company to find out how long they have been on business, what type of reputation they have, they navigate through their photo galleries and look at the testimonials, reviews and or recommendations. It might seem like extensive process, but it is not. It all happens within 30 minutes or less.
